Physical Therapy works with overall muscle strength, primarily with large muscle groups. We teach the proper body mechanics of sitting and standing as well as therapeutic exercises and training with assistive devices.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy works with upper body strength and smaller muscle groups. We train our residents in activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming and overall hygiene. We also train in the use of adaptive equipment.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy works with functional communications, dysphasia and swallowing disorders, cognition and memory impairment.
Geriatric Rehabilitation
Our Rehabilitation team specializes in the treatment of individuals with orthopedic problems such as hip fractures, joint replacement, or are victims of a stroke. The rehabilitation team develops a treatment plan that considers the disease or injury, scope of functional limitations and the prognosis for realistic improvement.
Restorative Nursing
Restorative nursing is provided under the supervision of the rehabilitation team for movement and ambulation, range of motion exercises, whirlpool baths, hot packs, transfer techniques, positioning and self-feeding.
